Read more Triple blend of cotton, polyester and spandexThe denim used in the ViaTerra Austin Denims is a carefully crafted blend of cotton, polyester, and spandex, offering a combination of breathability, strength, and comfort that sets these pants apart.
The inclusion of cotton ensures excellent breathability, allowing air to flow freely through the fabric and keeping you cool and comfortable, even during long rides or busy days in the office. No more feeling trapped in heavy or suffocating materials – these denims keep you feeling fresh and at ease throughout your day.
In addition to breathability, the polyester component of the denim blend contributes to the overall strength and durability of the pants. Polyester is known for its resistance to wear and tear, making the ViaTerra Austin Denims highly durable and capable of withstanding the demands of daily use. The denim has been tested for abrasion resistance and shows no thread breaking even after 75000 cycles.
To enhance comfort and flexibility, spandex is incorporated into the denim blend. This stretchy material ensures that the ViaTerra Austin Denims adapt to your body's movements, providing a comfortable and unrestricted fit. Whether you're on your motorcycle or sitting at your desk, the spandex component allows for freedom of movement, enhancing your overall comfort and performance.
Type B, CE Level 2 Protection - Knee & HipThe denims feature CE certified Level 2 armours from Sastec, on knee and hip, which means no compromise on protection. We have also ensured proper armour placement with protectors positioned as per Indian body measurements. Larger protectors offers wider coverage for enhanced protection while the low profile lets you blend in with the office crowd. Type B armor on riding jeans plays a vital role in enhancing protection, reducing the risk of injuries, and improving rider confidence. The larger coverage provided by Type B armor ensures that critical areas such as knees, hips, and possibly thighs receive comprehensive protection against impacts and abrasion, contributing to a safer and more enjoyable riding experience.
Flexible ArmoursThe Austin riding jeans feature larger Type B protectors on both knee & hip for more extensive coverage and are CE level 2 certified for enhanced protection, ensuring that crucial areas are safeguarded against potential impacts.
3 levels of armour adjustment for optimal fitThe knee armour pockets feature two adjustable levels, allowing you to find the perfect position that best accommodates your riding style and comfort needs. Whether you prefer a higher placement for maximum coverage or a lower position for increased freedom of movement, the adjustable levels cater to your specific requirements.
Classic 5 pocket designThe ViaTerra Austin riding jeans feature the timeless 5-pocket design. You'll find the traditional front pockets, rear pockets, and a coin pocket just like your regular jeans. This familiar layout allows you to carry your everyday essentials such as keys, wallet, and small accessories without any hassle. The front pockets on riding jeans are typically designed to provide easy access and secure storage for small items such as keys, coins, or a mobile phone. They are positioned on the front of the jeans, usually on either side of the zipper, and are deep enough to keep your belongings safe during your ride. The back pockets of riding jeans are similar to those found on regular jeans, offering additional storage space for essentials. A coin pocket, also known as a watch pocket or key pocket, is a small pocket usually positioned within one of the front pockets. This pocket is specifically designed to hold loose change, small accessories, or a small key, keeping them separate from other items and preventing them from falling out during your ride. These various pockets on the Austin riding jeans aim to provide riders with functional storage options, keeping their essentials secure and easily accessible during their motorcycle journeys.
Original YKK™ zipsThe Austin uses original YKK zippers for durable operation over the lifetime of the garment. The YKK zipper used in riding jeans combines strength, durability, smooth operation to provide riders with a reliable and long-lasting zipper solution. It is a trusted component that enhances the functionality, convenience, and overall quality of riding jeans.
Riveted at stress pointsThe rivets on the front pocket corners of the ViaTerra Austin Denims add a touch of timeless elegance, reminiscent of classic denim designs. In addition to their visual appeal, the rivets play a crucial role in reinforcing the stress points of the front pockets.
Bar tacked for added resilienceBar tacked on all stress points for extra reinforcement. In the context of riding jeans, bar tacking refers to a specific feature where reinforced stitches are applied to critical areas of the garment to enhance its strength and longevity. Bar tacking involves creating a series of closely spaced, short stitches using a specialized sewing machine. These stitches form a dense and compact row, often in a rectangular or zigzag pattern, which effectively reinforces the fabric at stress points. The thread used for bar tacking is typically thicker and stronger than regular sewing thread, further enhancing the durability of the garment.

How to measure size for riding pants?Things to keep in mind to ensure the measurements are taken correctly
- It will be helpful to have a family member or a friend take the measurements
- Please use flexible tape only, like a tailor’s tape
- All the measurements must be in the same units, whether cm or inches
- You should preferably be wearing base layers while taking measurements, and avoid anything bulky
STEP 1 -
Waist - Wrap the tape around your belt line. Keep the tape parallel to the ground, not too loose or too tight.
STEP 2 -
Find your pants size by checking measurements against the size chart provided on our website to see which size is closest to you.
Remember, each brand has its own body size charts, so do check the chart before you select the size.
If you are trying it on at the store, wear it and walk around for 5-10 min to get comfortable in it. Keep in mind that the armour might sit lower while standing, but will move higher while sitting on the motorcycle, so check while sitting on the motorcycle as well. The knee armour pocket has 2 levels for adjusting the armour position, so you can change as per your comfort.
MaterialCrafted from a durable cotton-polyester-spandex blend, the Austin Denims offer the perfect balance between abrasion resistance, breathability, and stretch. The fabric holds its shape ride after ride while letting you move freely, whether you’re on the bike or at your desk. Reinforced stitching across key zones ensures day-long comfort with dependable durability.
ProtectionEquipped with CE Level 2 Sas-Tec viscoelastic armour at the knees and hips, the Austin keeps you protected without the bulk. The Type B knee armour covers a larger area and is easily removable. Dual-level adjustability lets you fine-tune the armour position to match your natural stance. Reinforced bar-tacks at stress points add extra strength where it matters.
Comfort & FitWith built-in stretch, these jeans adapt naturally to your riding position and off-bike movement. The dual-position knee armour system ensures the pads sit exactly where they need to be. Whether you’re on a short city spin or commuting across town, Austin’s ergonomic design delivers lasting comfort without compromise.
VentilationBreathable by nature, the cotton-polyester base fabric ensures airflow and heat regulation in warm Indian conditions. Combined with the built in stretch, it helps keep you cool and mobile - even on those long, stop-and-go commutes.
Wash and CareIMPORTANT NOTE: Body armours/protectors must always be removed before starting the washing process
CLEAN & CARE:
- Wash them like you wash your denims after you remove the armour.
- Do not place your pants near, or come in contact with a direct heat source.
- Dry the pants on a hanger away from direct sunlight where there is good ventilation.
- Zippers need to be cleaned and lubricated regularly, you can use Vaseline, zipper lube or candle wax
STORAGE:
- Make sure your jeans are completely dry before you store it on a hanger.
- If stored wet or in a non-ventilated area, mildew might grow on the fabric causing discoloration and damage.
- Do not store the denims in air-tight plastic bags
Note - Please note that the armour must be used with the yellow elements facing the body. If the armour is folded or bent or used with the yellow elements facing away from the body, the armour might get damaged. This is not covered under warranty.
Things to RememberOur idea for the Austin came out of personal need - there were no riding pants that we could use in an office or urban setting. So we set out to design one that would serve that need. This was why we decided to use denim instead of technical fabrics, and the low profile yet CE Level 2 rated SasTec armour.
1. Make sure to insert the armour every time you gear up for full protection.
2. Adjust the knee armour position using the dual-level pockets to make sure it aligns with your riding posture.
3. While the denim is naturally breathable, it won’t match the airflow of mesh gear on extremely hot days - choose accordingly based on your ride and weather.
4. Regularly check bar-tack reinforcements and seams for wear if used daily - it helps extend product life and safety.
IMPORTANT: Please note that the armour must be used with the yellow elements facing the body. If the armour is folded or bent or used with the yellow elements facing away from the body, the armour might get damaged. This is not covered under warranty.
